Join Us for a Historic Celebration on June 20th!

We are excited to invite you to a special event celebrating the 65th birthday of the Steamer Oregon and the Washington Park Station. This is a wonderful opportunity to show your support for the restoration of the zoo railway’s Rose Garden Loop and to be part of a significant milestone in Portland's history.

  • Where: Picnic area A off Kingston Drive, below the Washington Park Station

What to Expect:

  • Family Fun: Kids will love meeting and high-fiving our historic mascot, Titus the Tiger.

  • Creative Activities: Make your birthday crown or bring your own special hat to show your support.

  • Historical Commemoration: Celebrate the historic event 65 years ago when the Zoo Railway’s Steamer Oregon first ran, and the Washington Park Station (then at the Oregon Centennial Grounds) opened for riders.

  • Community Engagement: This meet-up is a fantastic chance to gather with fellow supporters and discuss the future of the zoo railway.
