Beloved Zoo Train Engineer Retires

Jeff Honeyman and Renee Deveroux at Jeff's retirement celebration

Jeff Honeyman, the beloved lead engineer for the zoo train at the Oregon Zoo, retired on August 28, 2024 after 30 years of service. Known for his infectious enthusiasm and dedication to his craft, Jeff has been a beloved figure among both zoo visitors and train enthusiasts. He was always happy to share his knowledge of trains with children and adults alike, and he often went above and beyond to ensure that the Washington Park and Zoo Railway ran smoothly.

A wonderful celebration was held at the Willow Creek Railroad at Powerland Heritage Park in Salem, OR, to honor Jeff's contributions. Friends, family, and colleagues gathered to share stories and express their gratitude for his many years of service. As Jeff embarks on a new chapter in his life, we wish him all the best. Thank you, Jeff!
