🚂 The Metro Zoo Train Task Force is Officially Underway! 🚂

We’re excited to share that the Metro Zoo Train Task Force officially kicked off on March 25, 2025! This important group is focused on exploring the future of restoring the Rose Garden Loop of the Washington Park & Zoo Railway. The Task Force is co-chaired by Metro Councilor Christine Lewis and Portland City Councilor Olivia Clark.

The Friends of Washington Park & Zoo Railway (FWPZR) is proud to have two strong advocates at the table — Kathy Goeddel and Craig Dirksen with Andy Cotugno as alternate— representing our community’s passion for preserving and restoring this beloved historic railway. 💛

We’ll keep you updated as the Task Force evaluates options to bring the Zoo Train back to Washington Park — connecting families, visitors, and generations to come with the beauty of nature.
